Notary Visit Preparation

What to Bring for Your Notary Signing in Las Vegas, Nevada

When you meet with an iPride Notary agent — whether for an in-office appointment, a 24/7 traveling notary service, or a Remote Online Notarization (RON) webcam session — proper preparation is legally required. Following this checklist prevents notary refusals, signing delays, or incomplete validation.

Signer Preparation Checklist

Valid Government Photo ID

By Nevada state law, signers must be identified. You must present a valid, unexpired, government-issued photo ID. Acceptable IDs include:

  • State Driver's License or DMV-Issued ID Card
  • U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card
  • U.S. Military Identification Card
  • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
  • Foreign Passport (Must be stamped by USCIS or have a valid visa)

Note: The name on the ID must match the name on the document exactly. If the signer lacks an ID, you must bring two disinterested, qualified credible witnesses with their own valid photo IDs.

Unsigned & Complete Documents

Do NOT sign or date the document prior to your appointment. The signing must be performed directly in front of the notary agent. You must fill out all blanks on the document (except signatures and dates) to prevent fraudulent alterations later.

Witnesses (If Required)

Review your document carefully to see if it requires witnesses (common for Wills, Power of Attorney, and Real Estate documents). Witnesses must be disinterested parties (not family members, beneficiaries, or named in the transaction) and must bring their own valid government photo IDs.

Need witnesses? We can provide professional witnesses for your signing if requested at least 1 business day in advance.

Signer Awareness & Free Will

The notary public must establish that the signer is mentally competent, aware of what they are signing, and executing the document of their own free will. Notaries are legally obligated to refuse notarization if they suspect the signer is not coherent or is being pressured/coerced.

Pro-Tips for a Smooth Session

To ensure a fast notarization experience without any surprises, please keep the following tips in mind:

For Traveling Notary services

Ensure you have a well-lit workspace or table where signers, witnesses, and the traveling notary can sit comfortably to review documents and execute signings. Have all signers present and ready with IDs when the notary arrives.

For Remote Online sessions (RON)

Use a smartphone or computer with a working webcam, microphone, and high-speed internet. Email your documents to us at info@ipridenotary.com prior to the session. You must be able to upload your ID and pass identity verification.
